What Makes Mulberry Silk So Special?
Mulberry silk comes from silkworms that feed exclusively on mulberry leaves, producing an unusually long, uniform fibre — which is what gives the finished cloth its strength and its sheen. The result is a fabric that is naturally hypoallergenic, temperature-regulating, and unbelievably smooth to the touch. It drapes beautifully, catches light like no other material, and adds an effortless air of sophistication to any look.
Why We Print on Twill
Ours are mulberry silk twill specifically, and the weave matters as much as the fibre. Twill is heavier than plain silk. It holds a knot instead of slipping out of one, it drapes rather than floats, and it takes ink deeply enough to carry a painting’s full range of colour without washing it out.
That last part is the reason we chose it. These scarves begin as original paintings, and the cloth has to be good enough to do the artwork justice.
The Artists
Every scarf we make starts with a painting by a Haitian or Caribbean artist, printed in a limited run and never reprinted once it sells through.
- Philippe Dodard — Displaced, and À Toutes les Mères du Monde. Vibrant line, spiritual symbolism, and a deep connection to Haiti’s history.
- Bacheler — Mèsi. Creole for thank you: a tribute to gratitude, resilience, and the light that exists even in struggle.

Two Shapes, Different Lives
Each artwork becomes either a 90 × 90 cm square or a 175 × 53 cm oblong, decided painting by painting. The square opens out to show the composition whole and folds down for the widest range of styling. The oblong is already a band — easier to wear, and it lets a composition run long.
